Soft washing is an alternative way to wash houses and roofs without using a pressure washer. I apply the cleaning solution using a garden hose, then wash the solution off with clean water using another garden hose.

It is better to soft wash a house and roof because:
  • It protects the asphalt on your roofs shingles.
  • It does not force water under siding like pressure can.
  • It does not eat into wood siding like pressure can.
  • Pressure can break a window or cause it to "fog up".

Pressure washing uses forceful pressure to clean the dirty area. I use a pressure washer on concrete such as driveways, walkways, patios and porches. Depending on the brick I will sometimes use pressure on brick houses.
